Bi-directionnal driving

E-mail Print PDF
In order to enhance its service quality and realize savings, one of our customer asked us to create an helping application to pack its consumers's orders, including a control based upon articles' weight. WINNIX interfaces the server's database and its local weight control device.

The aims are :
- to get rid of paper documents, the client's order is no longer printed and is directly available on a hardened Panel PC carried on a trolley or a pallet truck This Panel PC is connected to a scale through a serial port.
- to limit main errors, as each article to be packed appears on the loaded screen. It is selected on the tactile screen. The user takes the article from its stock. A first identification control is done using a bar code reader. The operator then weights the article on the scale and the second-control is automatically done with the database in order to verify the weight it is supposed to reach. The weight control's aim is to prevent users from getting the wrong article or the wrong quantity packed.
At the packing start, the panel PC orders a scale reset.
Informations are both transfered to the scale (reset) or from the scale (different status and weight results) in order to provide them to the database server.
WINNIX provides the bi-directionnal serial port driving. A screen transparency printer is to be declared in the WINNIX menu of the serial port of which the scale is plugged to.

Tactile order taking

E-mail Print PDF
Winnix 2.30 enabled Easy Soft to create a new saler's order taking application by distance.

Demand is : As a seller visits its client, take an order in real time, get rid of all paper documents and validate the order with the client before he leaves.

Conception : We have chosen a portable PC convertible tablet PC, connected to a 3G network hosting our multivalued application. It can be used as a traditional desktop PC, including the keyboard. It can be transformed into a tablet PC, which can be carried around in the aisles for example, « beeping » articles with a connected bar code reader if necessary.

Program's interface is entirely tactile. Once the order is done and valued, it is validated and the central server sends the order's acknowledgement of receipt by email or by fax to the client who just needs to sign it.
